Initial Post

I had another blog but, for whatever reason, can no longer access it to revise it -- although I can still post pix to it. Go figger.

At any rate ...

This blog is for the express purpose of serving as a diary of sorts that my family and friends can access.

When I was a young man, in my teens, I decided that I wanted to learn how to shoot a bow. So I bought a simple nylon recurved bow and a dozen arrows and spent a few Saturday afternoons taking aim at paper targets in a pallet yard I was working in at the time. All went well until I noticed a young couple walking in the field behind my target. Within range. I packed my stuff and ended my archery days.

Later, in my early twentys, I decided that I would like to learn how to use firearms -- rifles to be precise. So I bought a .22 caliber rifle and a couple thousand rounds. Eventually, shooting wherever I happened to get permission to shoot, I got pretty decent with it.

That has been someting of a pattern for me; get a notion that I wanted to acquire a competency, buy the tools needed to perform it and then practice until I could use them with some proficiency.

Roughly two years ago I embarked on another learning adventure (there were many in between!) ... to learn how to make things of wood. Fine things, art things. That continues and many (nearly all?) of the pics posted here will be from that sphere of interest.

But I have other irons in the fire, as well.

I am a minister, father, son, husband and struggling businessman. I'm sure that there will be plenty to write about as I go forward.

If I can ever access this page again.
